About: SONORA

On 1 February of this year, one of the most significant conferences will take place in Latvia – “Export. Import. Development”, which is aimed for analysis of the existing global geopolitical situation, adequate assessment of future perspectives, looking for new business and development opportunities for export and import companies. Also, a contact exchange will take place during the conference, where participants of the forum will have a chance to share their experience, acquire new knowledge and find cooperation partners.

During October and November Sonora team has transported Project cargos to the different destinations all over the world. One of the most interesting projects and challenges was to deliver a non-standard equipment from Riga to Vitebsk, Belarus.

Current economic and political situation have greatly affected Latvian exporting companies and export amounts. To survive in the new market situation, companies need to acquire new regions. Experts consider the East as the greatest potential for Latvian exports.

During the weekend SONORA Racing team took part in the 4th round of Baltic Touring Car Championship 2016 (BATCC): “Riga 2016 Summer Race” which took place in Riga, at Racetrack Bikernieku. Our team rider Ansis Fridbergs (#47) drove in KUMHO Challenge National Class, where he got the 6th place.

Since the August 2015, SONORA has become as a member of Employers` Confederation of Latvia (LDDK), which is the largest organization that represents employers in Latvia. The LDDK is a socio-economic partner in negotiations with Parliament, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Free Trade Union Confederation of Latvia. Totally LDDK brings together and represents 110 sector leaders (companies which employ more than 50 employees), 66 sector-based and regional business associations and federations, as well as more than 5 000 companies, among which 3 036 are micro and small enterprises.

September is the most excited month for all basketball fans in Latvia and Europe – on the 5th of September starts the Europe Championship in Basketball for men 2015. This year championship will take place in 4 countries – Germany, France, Croatia and Latvia. We are delightful to host this event in Latvia – from the 5th until the 10th of September group matches will take place in Riga, Latvia.

This weekend we were transporting one more Project Cargo – Metal Constructions. A cargo was transported from Ventspils (Latvia) to Nybro (Sweden). During transportation were used Sea and Road transport.

This week we were transporting a Project Cargo – heavy machinery for Oil & Gas Industry from France to Turkmenistan. Transportation of cargo was organized by using land, sea and railway transport modes. Re-loading of goods to railway platforms was held at our customs warehouse in Riga.

Today and tomorrow (7-8th of August) our best Latvian rallycross driver Reinis Nitiš will take part in the 7th round of FIA World Rallycross Championship in Canada.
