International road freight transport sector is one of those who is affected by the tense geopolitical situation – the Russian embargo of the European Union food commodities and the decrease of the value of the ruble. All carriers do admit that in the last year the share of transportations to and from Russia is severely diminished. This particularly applies to those carriers whose specifics are food items, fruits and vegetables. The fall has been observed in the Ukrainian market also. At the same time, all serious industry players have diversified their markets already, so the fall in Russian and Ukrainian markets, although it is unpleasant, it is not fatal.
As one of the industry’s problems carriers name sometimes unfair competition with companies that you can call “one day existence” that tend to work below costs, then goes bankrupt and again re-establish a new business. Another problem – is a dishonest clients who fail to pay for the service, announcing its insolvency. Because not in all cases, the settlement takes place in advance.

In the of January, Sonora team came together to celebrate its 16th annual day of de iure or “birthday”. To celebrate this important event employees, along with their other halves, were invited to celebrate this great event at the “Mercure Riga Centre Hotel” where wide and interesting evening program were introduced to the guests.

The best Latvian rallycross driver Reinis Nitišs second year in a row, has participated in FIA World rallycross championship in Supercar class, where races the best world drivers. To get season’s total evaluation points R.Nitišs raced together with such legends as Solberg brothers and Mattias Ekstrom. Reinis finished his second world Rallycross season in seventh place overall what is a really good achievement for young driver.

In the middle of November, the board of Latvian – Uzbekistan Business cooperation council (LSP) went to their first business trip to Uzbekistan. Among them were JSC Sonora`s Chairman of the board Janis Mozga who is also a President of Latvian – Uzbekistan and Latvian – Turkmenistan LSP. During their visit in Uzbekistan, were signed a Cooperation Agreement between Employer`s Confederation of Latvia (LDDK) and a Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (CCIU).

In the Latvian  amateur league SONORA team has spent its first game against Pļavnieki B3 in which SONORA took over rival team with a result 60:54. Next game is already today on the 29th of October at 19.45 vs Latvijas Gāze team and will take place at Baložu high school.

To develop and improve cooperation in Kyrgyz Republic we have joined Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Recently we have transported one more Project Cargo – a sliver tower from Jekabpils to Cesis, Latvia.
